Providing assistance with consumer claims, contract disputes and DA contestations, we help builders, contractors and developers settle disputes at all stages of the build.

Wills & Estate Litigation

Left out of a will, disputing an inheritance or applying for Probate? We support individuals and families to ensure the fair distribution of an estate following the death of a loved one.

Family Law

Divorce, custody disputes and claims of violence can be distressing. We resolve family issues without going to trial, keeping your best interests at the heart of the process.

Employment Disputes

Contract terminated unfairly, working conditions not meeting standards or employees breaching conditions of employment? We help settle workplace disputes outside of court.

Victims of crime

We provide a boutique service to victims of crime, include sexual assault victims, to engage in Alternative Dispute Resolution processes including mediation.

Our Team

Matthew Barnes

Barrister

Matthew Barnes was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2006 and has practised exclusively in litigation since that time. Matthew was appointed as an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation in 2011. He was a solicitor partner for 8 years before being called to the Bar in 2022.’

Matthew is Accredited as a Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System. Matthew has participated in or been appointed a Mediator at countless Mediations over the years. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Mediation process.

Matthew has particular expertise in building and construction law, and contract law disputes. However, Matthew accepts appointments in a broad range of matters.

Matthew is a part-time academic and regularly teaches on alternative dispute resolution.
Matthew is a Member sitting at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal where he is regularly called upon to act as a Conciliator.

Adam Booker

Barrister

Adam Booker has almost fifteen years of experience working as a lawyer. In 2015, he undertook a specialist Master of Laws (LLM) by thesis, at the University of California, Berkely, for which he was awarded high honours. Upon his return to Australia, Adam was called to the NSW Bar in 2017.

Adam is accredited as a Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System. In addition, his practice identity is administrative law, family law and criminal law, as well as mediation-based alternatives to litigation. He also undertakes broad advice work relating to appeals before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and related Human Rights issues. Much of his advocacy work is accessible on NSW Caselaw.

Adam pairs his practice with a career in academia. This led to the award of his doctorate and roles with the University of Sydney law school, as practitioner in residence (2022), and more recently, as an academic in the Law School (2023). Adam has worked with communities to explore and better understand mediation-based alternatives to litigation, including how these avenues can contribute to improved legal access.
